Most of us eat pretty mindlessly, grabbing something quick that we eat with very little attention paid to what's going in our mouths and how it makes us feel. Or worse we eat in front of a screen; multitasking and distracting ourselves from the food in front of us.

Consuming food when we're not connected to our body can lead to all kinds of bad habits.

When was the last time you really savored something you ate? Tasted the flavours, textures and fully experienced the bites that went into your mouth?

Eating with Intention will explore our relationship between our brain and our gut, seasonal eating, our relationship with food and how the practices of mindfulness and intuitive eating can help keep you healthy. This will be an open conversation so bring your questions

This workshop will include food from The Fix and Co, a panel discussion and two guided meditations.

Tokyo Smoke & The Quiet Company Present: An Elevated Sound Bath Workshop

Join Tokyo Smoke & The Quiet Company for an intimate evening workshop featuring meditation, flow movement and an hour long sound bath guided by P.E.C.-based movement arts enthusiast, Megan Marie Gates.

For those not familar, a sound bath is a musical performance using a variety of healing instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes and drums. Part meditation, part listening excercise, our sound bath workshop is the perfect way to spend an elevated Friday night.

Be sure to bring your yoga mat and dress comfortably.

Boxed water has been generously donated by Flow Water.

‘There is a voice that doesn’t use words, LISTEN” – Rumi

 Have you ever had a moment when you felt something wasn’t right? Maybe committing to something you knew you didn’t have time for, or having a negative feeling around someone but not knowing why? Did you listen to that feeling or shrugged it off?

We all have an ‘inner voice’ or gut feeling that appears quickly in our consciousness. We don’t always know why it’s there and sometimes we can ignore it. Other times it just keeps coming back, tap-tapping when things feel off and we don’t know why.  Our society often places emphasis on rational, brain led decisions. But what about your gut? How do we know if we should listen to our head or our heart? 

This workshop we will dive deep into how to access our intuition and connect with what we really need.  You’ll learn 

  • What intuition is, and the many ways our intuition speaks to us
  • How to balance the intelligence of your head and the wisdom of your heart
  • Multiple techniques to access the rich wisdom that already lies within you

This workshop will be led by Ayah Norris and is co-hosted by the Quiet Company and The Health Hut. It is open to all levels and experiences.

Meditate, Move and Restore with Sound

Reset your energy, ground into your body and experience the healing vibrations of sound. The Quiet Co and Megan Marie Gates are thrilled to be creating a self-care Saturday experience with meditation, mindful movement and sound bathing.

We will meditation to bring our focus into our body followed by a short pilates/yoga flow. Then we will drop in and restore with an immersive sound bath.

A sound bath immerses you in the vibrational medicine of the crystal bowls. They provide deep relaxation, stress reduction, can improve mental clarity and enhance creativity. 

No experience with meditation required. Please bring a yoga mat and wear clothes you can move in.

Sleep is something that can come so easily some nights and escape us the next. Much of this elusiveness is from our daily habits, rituals and current ways of being, behaviours we don't even notice that provide quick relief in one moment, but discomfort in the next.

Meditation and the creation of nightly rituals can shift these behaviours and change the way your head hits the pillow. In this one and a half hour workshop, take the time to tune back into your natural rhythms and learn to rest easy. Get ready for your best nights sleep.

*This workshop, will include discussion on creation of nightly rituals, intention setting, breathwork, and a guided practice of Yoga Nidra to promote relaxation*
